Post positions for the $1 million Yonkers International Trot will be drawn Tuesday, October 11 at Noon at Gallagher’s Steakhouse in New York City.
The World Championship of trotting takes place Saturday, October 15 at Yonkers Raceway. First race post is 1:10 p.m. and the Yonkers International Trot has an approximate post time of 3:20 p.m.
Trotting fans can follow Tuesday’s post position draw live online, through the Standardbred Owners Association of New York’s Twitter account. Just follow @soaofny on Twitter and look for the live periscope broadcast Tuesday afternoon.
Many prominent horsemen are expected to be in attendance on Tuesday, including driver Yannick Gingras who is driving Hannelore Hanover representing the United States, driver Brian Sears driving Flanagan Memory representing Canada, trainer/driver Ake Svanstedt with Resolve for the United States and trainer Paul Kelley with Obrigado also representing the United States. Several of the European trainers and owners will also be in attendance.
