Longtime animal lover, horse breeder and owner Judie Johnston, wife of Dr. Peter Johnston, standardbred trainer and veterinarian, recently passed away after a long illness at the age of 68
.
She was the proud owner of her favourite horse in harness racing, Coal Harbor. In recent years, she also owned Rambaran, Locksmith Hanover, Sarong Hall, Sensual Hall, and most recently Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots performer Watkins.
She is survived by her husband Pete, daughter Cathy Voteary and her husband Mark, son Paul and his wife Teresa and their children Claire and Matthew.
Trot Insider has learned that a memorial service for Judie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 15 at Nisbett Funeral Home and Chapel, 600 Monaghan Rd., Peterborough, Ont.
