Woodbine Racetrack and The Raceway at the Western Fair District both have cards of live racing scheduled for today (Monday, January 6), and at this point both of the programs look as though they will be raced.

Just like much of the eastern seaboard, southern Ontario has been hit with a blast of winter weather. More bad weather is in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday.

Officials with the Western Fair District have sent out a release stating that the London, Ont. track will go ahead as planned with this afternoon’s race program. First-race post time is 4:05 p.m.

Due to the snowfall overnight, horsepeople are reminded to give themselves plenty of time when travelling to the Western Fair District this afternoon.

Management with the WFD have announced that they will monitor weather conditions overnight Monday, as a cold air mass is forecasted to hit the region. A decision regarding Tuesday afternoon’s scheduled program will be made by 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Woodbine Racetrack has a 12-race card scheduled for Monday, with first post scheduled to roll behind the starting gate at 7:25 p.m.
