Anne Jane Phillips (formerly Law, nee Armstrong) passed away peacefully on Jan. 14, 2025 in London, Ont., at the age of 83.
Anne was a dear friend to all who knew her, a passionate lover of animals (demonstrated by her decades-long involvement with the Standardbred racing community and her daily ritual of feeding her beloved "pet" squirrels), a passionate and talented gardener and above all a beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, Nan and Grandnan.
Anne was always putting the care and concern for those around her before herself, making sure to support her dear friends in the Richmondwoods community in any way she could and always calling her lifelong friend Sheila to make she she was "taking care." Throughout her life, Anne played a special role in the lives of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, making time to attend hockey games and school field trips, opening her home for a warm meal, a place to do laundry all while chatting and having a much needed visit while attending university.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald 'Garry' Phillips; her dear friend and father of her son Norman Law, devoted sister Michelle Cooper (nee Armstrong) and parents Edwin (Ted) and Dorothy Armstrong (nee Carlton). Anne is survived by her son Michael 'Mike' Law (Liza Ethier), granddaughters Maggie and Kellie Law, great-grandchildren Lacee Thomas and Madilyn Law, sisters Kathy Wells (Dennis) and Susan Reid (Richard).
The family would like to thank Pauline, Jean, Holly and all of the wonderful individuals from At Your Service for Seniors who worked with Anne every day; a special thank you for the friendship and care you provided to her allowing her to live a full and colourful life after her move to London.
Memorial contributions to Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society, Standardbred Racing Chaplaincy of Canada or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
There will be two Celebrations of Life to commemorate Anne's beautiful and full life for family and friends; one on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Great Hall at Richmondwoods Retirement Residence, located at 200 North Centre Road in London, Ont., and a second in the spring to be held in Cambridge, Ont.
