On Thursday, January 30, Northfield Park will be hosting a qualifier for the 2014 World Harness Handicapping Championship.
The championship series will feature 10 different tracks and is free to enter. The winner of each contest will earn an entry ($800 value) into the $60,000 final of the WHHC, which will take place at the Meadowlands Racetrack on Saturday, April 19.
Contestants that would like to register for the qualifiers can do so at horsetourneys.com. Entries for the online contest are limited to the first 1,250 handicappers on a first-come-first-serve basis and are available now.
For Thursday’s Northfield contest, each handicapper will select one horse (and an alternate in case of a late scratch) for a $2 Win and $2 Place wager on each race. All online selections need to be submitted prior to post time of the first race. The contest will be limited to 12 races.
Northfield plans to offer fifteen (15) filly and mare pacing events on the Thursday night program. First-race post time will be 6:00 pm.
