Published: January 23, 2013 02:22 pm EST

The following notice has been updated for horsepeople seeking transportation to the Ontario Liberal Leadership Convention in Toronto this weekend (January 25 to 26).

On Friday, there will now be one bus leaving Mohawk Racetrack (front entrance parking lot) at 7:00 a.m. and leaving Toronto at noon. On Saturday, there will now be one bus departing Mohawk at noon and leaving Toronto at 4:00 p.m.

To reserve your seat, please contact either Cathy Boughton at COSA (905-854-2672) or Brian Tropea at OHHA (905-854-6442).

Your participation to help draw media and political attention to the uncertain nature of harness racing’s future is extremely important.

"James, Doug McNair and I will be handing out hot chocolate and coffee," Anthony MacDonald told Trot Insider. "We are hurt but realize the hard work people will be putting in at the convention. Without these people our industry would definitely fall apart."

Signs to draw attention to horse racing industry attendance during the rally at the Liberal Leadership Convention will be available for pick-up at the OHHA office tomorrow (Friday) between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.

A number of signs will also be on hand at each of the two scheduled bus trips, departing from Mohawk on Friday (25th) at 7:00 a.m. and Saturday (26th) at noon.

For people in the Kawartha area, a bus will leave at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, January 25 from the Kawartha Downs horsemen's side parking lot.

Anyone interested in taking the bus is being asked to call Agatha at Kawartha Downs (705-939-6624) or Ronda Markle (905-342-2159) to book your seat. Space is limited.

In order to cover the cost of the bus, the cost of transportation is $15 per person.
