Roosevelt Raceway came far before the Mets, Jets, Islanders and Nets. This week’s Harness Racing Alumni Show features Boston's WMEX radio personality Jimmy Jay, who’s known internationally as the DJ of the stars.
Jimmy narrates the titillating story of the founder of Roosevelt Raceway George Morton Levy, the mob’s top attorney who turned a far-fetched racetrack dream into a reality. Politicians were bribed along with mobsters, as various scandals emerged, including race fixing and lots of court room drama after Levy gave life to the number one harness track in the world.
