A new year of Standardbred racing begins Sunday (Jan. 17) evening in Maryland when Rosecroft opens its Winter-Spring Meet of racing with a 14-race program.
The 37-day meet will feature live harness racing Sunday and Wednesday. There will be additional live programs on Monday, April 5 and Saturday, May 15.
First race post is 7:15 p.m.
In response to current state COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the Maryland Jockey Club at Rosecroft is temporarily closed to the public.

Jonathan Roberts had the most wins at Rosecroft last year with 70, 11 ahead of John Wagner and 12 more than Frank Milby. Arlene Cameron led all trainers with 55 victories. Megan Roberts was next with 24 followed by Brian Callahan, Shaun Callahan and Trevor Stafford with 20 each.
The opening night program includes a $9,000 pace, Maryland preferred. Starship goes for his third consecutive victory and fourth in his last five starts with Roberts in the bike.
