Stallion contracts for the 2024 breeding season for the Home Hardware Maritime Breeders Stakes are now open.
The Maritime Breeders Association is now accepting memberships in the form of stud fees from stallion owners for the 2024 breeding season. The fee to become a member of the Maritime Breeders Association and have yearlings from your stallion eligible for nomination to the Maritime Breeders Stakes in 2026 is $750 or one full stud fee, whichever is the greater of the two per stallion. There is no HST on stud fees for this program.

Stallion contracts must be submitted before March 31, 2024. Stallion fees are due by May 15, 2024. For a stallion’s progeny to remain eligible for the stakes, the stallion owner(s) must submit a payment for each year that the stallion has bred mares, and the stallion must stand their entire breeding season in one of the Maritime provinces.
