The Meadowlands Racetrack will pick up Thursday live racing for seven consecutive weeks beginning on January 26. In anticipation, the track’s racing department would like to outline what short series and various classes may be expected over the period of expanded live racing.
First off, the box for the Thursday, January 26 program will close on Monday, January 23 at 9:00 a.m.
The January 26 card will include a 'G-Note' race for $7,500 claiming pacers with a $12,500 final and an $8,500 consolation if the number of entries allow. There will also be a G-Note race for n/w of $3,500 trot optional $10,000 claimer with a $15,000 final and a $10,000 consolation with enough horses. A n/w of $3,500 pace G-Note race for Saturday, January 28 with the same purses as the trot.
Please note that all of the above G-Note series will be in a two-leg and final format.
The track’s racing secretary, Pete Koch, anticipates getting horses racing regularly each week during the period of three days a week racing, which continues through March 11.
