Time To Dance Dominant At Red Shores

Excellence was the name of the game as Time To Dance excelled at every fraction on his way to victory in the Preferred Pace Saturday evening (Sept. 4) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The "King" of Island Racing, Marc Campbell, was in the bike behind his trainee as the pacer won over a "sloppy" track rated three-seconds off stopping the clock in 1:55.1.

Time To Dance was on the front at every call in the $3,400 Preferred Pace and repelled the first-over advance of Rock Lights in the final half. The Rev sat second the whole mile and held that position to the finish while Rock Lights had to settle for third. Brent Campbell of Charlottetown shares ownership of Time To Dance with Matt McDonald of Ontario.

Kenny Arsenault had a driving triple on the night, including a unique husband-wife training feat. Arsenault sat behind Keeper Floored for a 2:02.4 maiden score in race one for trainer Roger MacRae then won the race 13 finale with Sports Royalty in 1:59.4 for the former MacRae’s wife, trainer Wendy MacRae. Arsenault’s other win was aboard JK Express in 2:00.1 from his own barn.

Cheeky Little Minx won the $4,800 Island Oceans Trot Classic division, sponsored by JD Marine and Diving Inc., for trainer/driver Barrieau and owners Howmac Farms Ltd., and Wayne MacRae in 2:00.4. Barrieau also won with McPat in 1:57.1 from his Mount Herbert barn.

Trainer Raymond White was undefeated on the evening with two wins as Corey MacPherson scored with Spack Jarrow in 1:58.2 and Painted Pony was a 2:00.2 winner for driver Campbell.

Handle for the evening was $65,581.

Live racing continues Monday evening (Sept. 6) at Red Shores Summerside featuring an all-stakes card underway at 1 p.m. (EDT).
