Two 10-year-old stablemates from the East Coast, Stevie Y and Fairplay, were euthanized on Saturday, October 18 due to leg injuries.

Stevie Y, who recovered from a broken coffin bone at the age of three, raced in the top class at Summerside in his last start. The son of Largo had 41 lifetime wins and $49,324 in purse earnings.

In a double run of bad luck, his stablemate of five years, Fairplay, also had to be laid to rest because of leg injuries.

The son of Shipps Schnoops recorded 37 lifetime wins and $44,970 in earnings.

Both geldings were owned by Wendell and Robbie Shaw of Summerside, P.E.I.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the connections of Stevie Y and Fairplay.
