The half-brother to World Record holder Somebeachsomewhere, Stars On The Beach, was sold as Hip 31 on Wednesday night at the Lexington Select Yearling Sale and fetched a price of $150,000.
Kelly O’Donnell, acting as agent, was the final bidder on Stars On The Beach, who is a brown Astreos colt out of the mare Wheres The Beach. He is the sixth foal and highest priced yearling in the family.
His older brother, Somebeachsomewhere, is 16-for-17 in his career, with his lone defeat coming in the $1 million Meadowlands Pace. Last Saturday at The Red Mile, the winner of over $2.4 million won a division of the Bluegrass in 1:46.4, which was a World Record for three-year-old pacing colts and tied Holborn Hanover’s all-time standard.
Capo Dolce, a Muscles Yankee half-brother to Ontario sensation Bella Dolce, was sold to David McDuffee for $415,000. He is the second foal out of Pizza Dolce, who was 14-for-23 in her racing career with earnings of over $660,000.
