This year's Sandown Breeders Stakes two-year-old champions will be decided Friday night at Fraser Downs, as three divisions for the juveniles have been drawn.
Two of the stakes races -- the pair of divisions for the males -- will be non-betting races which will be decided prior to the first carded race. The other the division, the $17,468 division for the fillies, has been carded as the eleventh dash on the 13-race card.
A full field of nine will contest the filly division. The Rod Therres-trained Sugar Mountain, a half-sister to Royal Morn, made an impressive debut against older pacers last weekend and could go off as the post time choice, despite having drawn Post 9 for the affair.
Sugar Mountain, a bay daughter of Camcracker, was bred by owners Therres and Charles Macfarlane and is a graduate of the 2006 BCSBS Pacific Sale.
The $11,124 divisions for the males will each house six-horse fields.
