The highly anticipated Fall Meet at The Red Mile kicks into high gear this weekend and HPI TV will offer plenty of bonus coverage from Lexington.
On Thursday, a trio of $98,000 Bluegrass Stakes divisions for two-year-old colt trotters will be shown as wagering events. Races 8, 10 and 12 on the Thursday program will be shown on HPI and among the starters are recent Wellwood Memorial winner Tom Cango and Peter Haughton Memorial champion Muscle Hill.
The Bluegrass Stakes action continues on Friday afternoon with a pair of $118,000 divisions for three-year-old filly trotters featured. Among the starters will be the red-hot Bella Dolce, who has won seven straight races including the Canadian Breeders Championship, SBOA Final and the Simcoe Stakes.
HPI TV will also carry an $82,700 split for the three-year-old filly pacers headlined by recent Jugette winner Good News Lady. Friday's races are carded as 4, 6 and 12 on the program.
On Saturday, the sport's biggest stars come out to play with Somebeachsomewhere making his first start since winning the Simcoe Stakes in one of two $134,000 Bluegrass divisions for three-year-old colt pacers. The connections have been pointing the son of Mach Three towards this race in hopes of taking a shot at the all-time race record of 1:46.4 set by the late Holborn Hanover.
Art Official, the only horse to defeat Somebeachsomewhere, will compete in the other division while the Hambletonian and Canadian Trotting Classic champion Deweycheatumnhowe takes on eight rivals in a $107,000 Bluegrass split for three-year-old colt and gelding trotters.
The three races will go in succession as races 12, 13 and 14 on Saturday's program.
First post for each afternoon program is 12:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) and all will be available for full-card simulcasting through WEG and its teletheatre locations.
