Horsemen were out in full force in London, Ontario in London earlier today as the Forest City Yearling Sale presented "The Selected Sale" – the first half of a two-day auction.
A total of 246 yearlings went through the ring for an average price of $21,380 on Sunday, with another 153 yearlings scheduled to sell as part of "The Selected Sale" on Sunday, October 26 at 11 a.m.
Reach Higher, a son of Striking Sahbra out of Raising The Bar, topped today's sale when he fetched a final bid of $140,000.
John Kopas signed the slip on the full-brother to one of the heavy hitters from his stable - the multiple stakes-winning filly Raising Rachel (1:58.1 - $175,458).
Preppy Party Girl was the highest priced pacer to go through the ring. The daughter of Western Terror – Miraculous Muffy sold for $127,000.
Tony Alagna, acting as agent for John Carver of Steger, IL, signed for the filly, who is the second foal out of a half-sister to Cypress Creek (1:50.2 - $435,608).
