Raising Rachel resurfaced at Mohawk Racetrack earlier this evening for trainer/co-owner John Kopas, who watched the precocious trotting filly extend her undefeated streak to five thanks to a 1:59.3 victory in an overnight event.
Fresh off her win in the $47,200 In Free Trotting Series, the daughter of Yankee Glide took an early three-hole tuck for driver Jack Moiseyev before brushing to command as soon as the field hit the backstretch.
Once in command, she dictated the tempo by laying down training trip-like panels of 1:00.4 and 1:31.3 before kicking out a :28-second final quarter en route to the one-length score in 1:59.3. Windsong Soprano was second and Elusive Desire finished third.
Mel Hartman, George Hempt, Doug Millard and the KR Stable (John Kopas & Harry Rutherford) share ownership on the multi-talented miss, who has stashed away $72,076. She was a $75,000 purchase at last year's Harrisburg Yearling Sale.
Raising Rachel's Striking Sahbra brother, Reach Higher, will sell at this year's Forest City Yearling Sale.
