Quebec Breeders Send Out Legal Warnings

According to a report in The Montreal Gazette, a collective group of Quebec breeders yesterday served legal warning to the provincial government, SONACC, Attractions Hippiques' Paul Massicotte and Loto-Québec.

The legal warning states that the group of breeders holds the above-mentioned parties accountable for their precarious financial position and demands a solution be brought forth. The notice states that if a solution is not advanced in the next 15 days, legal action will be initiated.

The legal warning is separate from the warning that the provincial horsemen's association (ATAQ), the owners and breeders association (SPECSQ) and the regional racing circuit sent exclusively to SONACC last week.

Attractions Hippiques discontinued live racing at Hippodrome de Montréal this summer, and although it has since resumed one day a week, no racing is scheduled beyond November 30 of this year.
