OSS Grassroots Action At Flamboro

Seven $20,000 OSS Grassroots events for two-year-old pacing fillies took centre stage at Flamboro Downs on Friday night.

Fbs Gal broke her maiden in her OSS debut for driver Scott Coulter and trainer Mario Macri in the first division. The daughter of Sir Luck – Armbro Lioness swept three-wide down the backside and drove to a four-length triumph in 1:58. Michael Guerriero and Mileo Monte purchased Fbs Gal, who now has a win and two thirds in five lifetime attempts, with $14,080 in purses, for $3,000 as a yearling.

Tomorrowpan recorded her fourth Grassroots victory when she front-stepped her way to the winner's circle in the second split. Driven by Brad Forward, the No Pan Intended – Disneypan filly went the distance and won by five and a half lengths in 1:56.2. Owned and bred by the Peter Pan Stables Inc., Tomorrowpan is 5-0-1 in eight tries, banking $43,540 under the care of Bob McIntosh.

Kabbalah Karen B used her rail advantage to go coast-to-coast and double up for the team of driver Rob Shepherd and trainer Rod Boyd in the third tilt. The Western Terror – Mib Hanover filly tripped the teletimer on top by two lengths in 1:57.3. Bulletproof Enterprises own Kabbalah Karen B, who is 2-1-0 in four starts, with earnings of $19,060.

Mufasas Place was another maiden breaking winner in the fourth division. The Million Dollar Cam – Tumba Town filly sat fourth for the first half-mile and swept three-high for driver Mike Langdon down the backside en route to a four-length score in 1:56.1. Don Lowes owns and trains the $12,000 yearling purchase, who is 1-1-0 in five tries, banking $15,000.

Not Enough had more than enough when she front-stepped her way to victory lane in the fifth contest. A daughter of Grinfromeartoear – Party Planner, she took back charge for driver Brad Forward past the half and never looked back, posting a winning margin of three lengths in 1:57. Paul Reid conditions Not Enough for Bulletproof Enterprises, who have seen the filly go 3-0-1 in four starts and earn $23,100.

Classic Sakuri became the third filly to make a three-wide sweeping move a winning one. Driven by Alfie Carroll for trainer Stanley Malec, she powered to the front around the final turn and widened with every stride to win by four and three-quarter lengths in 1:57.2. The Astreos – Spider Cam filly is 3-1-1 in five attempts in her freshman campaign, earning $32,130 for owner Classic Farms.

Joint Effort took the seventh and final dash, and broke her maiden in doing so for driver Alfie Carroll. The Modern Art – R Xample filly went wire-to-wire to score by a length and three quarters in 1:57.4. Rich Griffithis trains Joint Effort for owner/breeder Rob Hamather, who has seen his young filly collect a win and three seconds in six tries while putting $22,450 in the bank.
