The Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) has approved an application from Kawartha Downs to change its fall race date schedule to race Saturdays in November and December.
The application to cancel Fridays and race Saturdays was circulated to the industry under Notice To The Industry in late September. After carefully considering the business case and the additional support information, and after considering the various submissions received from other parties, the Director approved the application.
Additionally, an application from Kawartha to race Thursday, October 16, 2008 was also received and approved by the Director. The October 16 date was requested due to the cancellation of racing on September 30, 2008. ORC inquires are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the cancellation of the September 30th card.
