Only Lonely trotted to a new track record for sophomore fillies tonight at Grand River Raceway.

Bill O'Donnell steered the Yankee Paco miss to a two-length score in the fourth dash of the card in 1:58.3. The clocking replaces the former record of 1:58.4 shared by Holyrood and Dornello.

Only Lonely got away fifth from post nine as Carscot Max (Michael Whelan) took to the front posting the opening quarter in :28.4. As the field approached the half in :58.2, Kilmartin Orphan (Scott Zeron) took the lead with Only Lonely on the outside in fourth.

After passing the third quarter pole in 1:28.1, Only Lonely powered home for the win in record time. Kilmartin Orphan was second and Zorgwijk Fallon (Richard McNeill) rounded out the top three.

Only Lonely is trained by Chris Beaver for owner Tom Crouch of Lexington, Kentucky. The record marks her fifth win of the season and pushes her career earnings to $105,742.
