The second session of the Standardbred Horse Sale's mixed sale concluded earlier this evening, with One Tough Lass fetching the highest bid of the day at $475,000.
Consigned by Peninsula Farm, Inc., acting as agent, the three-year-old daughter of Muscles Yankee – Timberlassie was purchased by Herb Liverman of Miami, Florida and Melvin Hartman of Ottawa, Ont. One Tough Lass, a winner of $326,397 in purses, recently took her lifetime mark of 1:52.4 in the Kentucky Filly Futurity.
Satin Pillows was purchased for $250,000 by the Valley High Stable of Freehold, New Jersey. The three-year-old Conway Hall – Bold Dreamer miss, who was consigned by Preferred Equine Mkt., Inc., acting as agent, has banked $92,968 in her career and holds a mark of 1:59. She is the half-sister to standout trotters Pampered Princess and Was It A Dream.
The next highest priced racehorse was Southwind Tempo, purchased by Northwood Bloodstock of Secaucus, New Jersey for $240,000. The four-year-old Bettors Delight mare by Tsunami Hanover has earned almost $1.3 million in purses and sports a lifetime mark of 1:49.3.
