Both divisions of the Florida Sale Stakes early non-wagering races for two-year-old Florida-bred colt and gelding pacers set new lifetime marks Saturday at Pompano Park.

Storming Howard (Bruce Ranger) won the $14,300 first division in 1:54.4, taking his bankroll over $37,000. The Mannart Howard-Keriann Hanover gelding hit the first turn and went right to the lead and never looked back to win by five lengths.

Michile Lorenzo trains Storming Howard for owners Rod Lorenzo of Deerfield Beach, Florida, W. D. Hancock, Jr. of Bloomingdale, Illinois, Ciro Gentile and the Pomtambo Stables of Boca Raton, Florida.

In the second division, Time To Scoot (Dan Clements) knocked two full seconds off his record to win in 1:53.4 for a purse of $14,000.

The Scoot Outa Reach-Nova Ruby bay colt got the early lead and stayed in full command with fractions of .27.4, .56 and 1:25 to win by two and a half lengths to push his earnings over $29,900.

Marc Aubin trains the two-year-old colt for the Amante Standardbreds, Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida.
