Tioga Downs has announced that Jody Jamieson, Canada's reigning Driver of the Year, will be the sponsor's exemption for its second annual Drivers' Championship.

Jamieson currently has 166 wins this year and has earned more than $3.3 million in 2008. He is one of the leading drivers in Canada, and also participated in the first Drivers' Championship at Tioga in 2007.

"I am really honoured that Tioga has given me the opportunity to represent Canada in the Drivers' Championship again this year," said Jamieson.

"Tioga is a fun place to drive at with the crowds that they get for live racing, you don't see that anymore. I think they do a great job marketing their racing product, and they care about bringing people back to the track."

The second annual Drivers' Championship at Tioga Downs will take place on Sunday, July 27 with a post time of 1:15 p.m.

All of the drivers will be on hand before the races in an autograph session on the track apron.
