Irish Seaside drew off to a convincing victory in Tuesday's $17,400 Frisky Fillies Pacing Series final at Kawartha Downs, and she earned a new speed badge in the process.

The three-year-old daughter of Northern Luck, who had a win and a third-place finish in the preliminary legs of the event, nestled into the four-hole for trainer/driver Murray Brethour while Majo Aces To Aces and Oppies Best butted heads through early fractions of :27.4 and :55.2.

Those two continued their battle all the way up the backstretch before being joined and overtaken by Irish Seaside at the three-quarter pole, which was reached in 1:26.2. Irish Seaside made a three-wide sweep to the lead and finished off her foes with a :30.4 final frame en route to the 1:57.1 decision.

It was just over two lengths back to Camdassian, who finished second as the 9-5 favourite in the nine-filly affair. Money River rallied late to pick up the show dough.

Stephen Scarff of Halifax, NS bred and owns the lightly raced pacer, who has put together a 3-1-1 record and banked $18,355 in her first six assignments.
