It appears that live racing action is set to resume this Sunday at the Hippodrome de Montreal.
The entry box opens Wednesday night and will remain open until 10 a.m. on Friday in hopes of filling 10 overnight races for two and three-year-olds, vice-president of racing Gerard Landry said.
"I'm confident we'll have enough entries," Landry said of the situation.
Stakes events will be carded starting Sept. 14.
Hippodrome de Montreal has not had live racing since racetrack operator Attractions Hippiques entered creditor protection at the end of June. An agreement between Attractions Hippiques and the provincial horsemen's association on the distribution of purse money left over from 2007 will enable presentation of Sunday programs through the end of November.
