Hibbler turned aside nine rookie rivals to take home the lion's share of tonight's $120,000 OSS Gold Series Final for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings at Mohawk Racetrack.
It was the third victory in as many tries for the Murray Weber-trained son of Striking Sahbra.
Rick Zeron tucked the colt into the three-hole while Mopey Corey and Lemon Candy battled to the quarter pole in :28.2. The latter forged to the top shortly after the opening station and proceeded to chop out sensible panels of :59 and 1:28.4.
Hibbler popped off the rail on the way to the three-quarter station, and he used a :28.3 closing quarter to propel himself to a three and three-quarter length score in a personal best clocking of 1:57.3.
Mopey Corey re-emerged to grab the runner-up award and At The Gate rallied to finish third. The final cheques went to Lemon Candy and Pointe Of Honour, who finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Sent off at odds of 5-1, Hibbler bumped his bankroll to $90,000 for Weber and partners Fred Jamieson and Renato Confortin. The colt's bankroll more than covers his $14,000 Forest City Yearling Sale price tag.
