After a disappointing effort in the Breeders Crown Open Mare Trot final, Falls For You rebounded with a sharp tally in the third leg of the Miss Versatility Series on Thursday evening at Vernon Downs.
Brian Sears rallied Falls For You from just off the pace to take the $25,000 assignment in a time of 1:54.2. Lavec Dream was a hard-charging runner-up and third went to Norway No Day.
"She's had some trouble with the inside before," Sears added when asked about her break in the Breeders Crown. "I was trying to be careful with her, but she still jumped.
The trip worked out great tonight and she was real strong," he added. "She was perfect. She's off to Delaware next for the final of the Miss Versatility."
The four-year-old daughter of Yankee Glide, who hangs her harness bag in the barn of trainer Trond Smedshammer, improved her 2008 record to 4-1-1 in 12 starts with the win.
She has banked $1,144,326 to date for the partnership of Fair Winds Farm Inc., Ted Gewertz and Willow Pond LLC.
The $116,000 Miss Versatility final will be contested on Thursday, September 18 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
