Fourteen horses have been entered to contest a pair of eliminations for the Maple Leaf Trot Saturday at Mohawk Racetrack. Included in the bunch are a pair of European invaders, Colombian Necktie and Improve As.
The first seven-horse elim has been carded as Race 2 (7:51 p.m.) on the 13-dash card. The second elim has been carded as Race 4 (8:33 p.m.). First race post time is 7:30 p.m.
Six-year-old Alf Palema gelding Columbian Necktie has drawn in to the first elim. The bay student of trainer Roger Walmann has won 12 of 55 starts, $519,136 in purses and will leave from Post 4 with driver Thomas Uhrberg in the elim.
Corleone Kosmos, Up Front Ben, Arch Madness, Armbro Continental, Chick N Tell and Val Taurus will complete the field for the first elim.
Eight-year-old Tagliabue horse Improve AS will contest the second elim and will leave from Post 5 with reinsman Tony Le Beller. The bay Fabrice Souloy pupil has won 19 of 71 starts and $705,892 in purses.
Man About Town, Armbro Chronicle, Enough Talk, Abbey Road C, Digital Image and Prayer I Am complete the field for the second elim.

The Maple Leaf Trot is for horses three years of age and upward. The $700,000 (estimated) final is scheduled for September 20.
Last year's edition of the Maple Leaf Trot was won by Equinox Bi in 1:53.4.
