Three-year-old Cams Eclipse filly Docs Moonlite will be looking for her seventh straight victory tomorrow at Western Fair Raceway, and co-owner Ed Sayfie couldn't be happier.
Even though she has drawn Post 8 in Race 5, a nine-horse conditioned event, Docs Moonlite has still been favoured on the morning line, as she has been installed as the 8-5 early choice. Kevin Hough has accepted the driving duties.
"[Docs Moonlite] has just recently learned what racing is all about, and seems to get better with every start," Sayfie said last week about the filly, who has excelled in the barn of trainer Zaim Cunmulaj.
The filly didn't find too much luck in her juvenile campaign, one in which she made nine starts and posted two seconds and two thirds. From 17 starts this year, Docs Moonlite has compiled a slate that reads 7-3-4 from 17 starts. She lowered her mark to 1:55.3 over Western Fair on October 15.
"She can race on the front or come from behind," Sayfie explained. "After her Tuesday start she'll have a couple weeks off and then may start at Woodbine."
