The undefeated trotting terror, Deweycheatumnhowe, continues to hold down the top spot in the 2008 Hambletonian/Breeders Crown Standardbred Poll, which was released earlier today by Harness Racing Communications.
The award winning son of Muscles Yankee was perfect in all 10 of his rookie starts, and three-year-olds, and four-year-olds for that matter, have been unable to knock off the Ray Schnittker-trained superstar in the first six starts of his sophomore season.
The colt, who received 25 of the first-place votes in this week's poll, was victorious at Vernon Downs this past Friday evening in a $30,000 Open event for three and four-year-old trotters. He won by eighth lengths in a time of 1:54.
Somebeachsomewhere, fresh off his World Record performance in yesterday's Confederation Cup at Flamboro Downs, holds down the second spot in the poll. He garnered nine first-place votes.
Mister Big, who finds himself sitting third in the poll, also garnered a first-place vote. The son of Grinfromeartoear was victorious on Saturday night in the 66th edition of the Canadian Pacing Derby at Mohawk Racetrack.
