Three-year-old trotter Corkemup kept his win streaking rolling this afternoon at Western Fair Raceway taking his sixth straight win in his conditioning assignment for trainer/driver Randy Fritz.

Fresh off a win in his Middlesex Trotting Series Final, the 9-5 second choice, who sat in the two-hole for most of the mile, closed well in the stretch to win by half a length ahead of the pacesetter, Bjs Fancy (Don McElroy), in 2:02.1. Apeachtoremember (Doug McNair) finished third.

The son of Wesgate Crown is owned by Joey and James Ayotte of Grimsby, Ont. In 11 career starts, Corkemup has compiled a record that includes seven wins, three seconds, one third-place effort and a total of $56,690 in earnings.

In other streaking action, Buckcorn’s 10-race win streak came to an end in this afternoon’s fifth race. The five-year-old gelded son of Rambaran, who had not lost a race for trainer and owner Jeffrey Bryan since June, finished sixth in his respective assignment.
