Coldheartedrevenge Blazes At Balmoral

The Saturday night Free For All at Balmoral Park produced yet another amazing performance as Thomas Ceraso Jr. and John Giumarra Jr.'s Coldheartedrevenge posted a thrilling head decision in a career best of 1:48.3.

That clocking was the fastest mile of the year at Balmoral Park and was just two-fifths of a second off Holborn Hanover's track record for an aged gelding pacer.

Getting the jump on his rival's driver Mike Oosting pulled from fourth as Chris Riley N (Brandon Simpson) and My Boy David (Brent Holland) battled through splits of :26.1 and :54.

Moving to within a head of the pacesetting Chris Riley N as the field charged by the three-quarter-mile mark in 1:21.4, Coldheartedrevenge quickly sprinted past the tiring leader leaving My Boy David trapped along the pylons.

After opening up a 2 1/4 length advantage at the mid-stretch call, the Ken Rucker trained seven-year-old was then all out as he gamely held off a big late move from Fox Valley Gambler (Tyler Buter) to get the victory. Wildridge Sam (Sam Widger) followed the winners cover while rallying for the show dough.

The win was the eighth of the season for this son of Arts Conquest who now boasts career earnings of $735,464. Sent off as the second choice in the wagering, Coldheartedrevenge returned $9.20, $4.40 & $3.60.
