Grand Circuit week wrapped up at the Indiana State Fair with a stakes-packed card, but all eyes were on world record holder Art Official in the $28,979 Horseman Stake for three-year-old colts and geldings.
After making an uncharacteristic break at the half, Art Official (Travis Seekman) recovered posting a :27.4 final quarter to score a six and a half length victory in 1:51.3 ahead of Handsome Prince (Kenny Kidd) and Dr Mcsteamie (Sam Widger).
The son of Art Major is trained by Joe Seekman for the Sawgrass Farms LLC of Lockport, Illinois. With eight wins this season, he has boosted his bankroll to $1,091,402 in earnings.
The connections of Art Official, who is currently not eligible to the Little Brown Jug, are reportedly considering supplementing him to the Cane Pace.
A win in the Cane Pace would allow the owners to supplement him to the Jug.
