Tuesday night's (September 10) program at MGM Yonkers Raceway will have a carryover of $11,064.45 and a guaranteed pool of $25,000 in the Pick 5 after no winning tickets were held in the sequence on Monday night's (September 8) card.
The guarantee in the Pick 5 is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program. The Pick 5, which begins in race five, has a takeout rate of 20 percent.
Monday’s action was topped by a pair of $52,703 pacing events - an Invitational and an Open for three-year-olds to five-year-olds. Typhoon Banner N, an eight-year-old Bettors Delight gelding driven by trainer Joe Bongiorno, led at every call and won the Invitational in 1:52 for owners JB Racing, Philip Steinberg and Barbara Bongiorno Stb LLC. and Verdun, a four-year-old son of Bettors Delight piloted by trainer Pat Lachance, rallied from third to capture the Open in 1:51.3 for owner Thomas Ceraso Jr.
MGM Yonkers Raceway is currently operating on a Monday/Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday live racing schedule with post time each night at 7 p.m. (EDT).
