So Frisky ($4.80) worked her way back in the win column on Wednesday (Sept. 9) at Grand River Raceway, recording her third win in four starts and her fourth in six with a high-powered 1:53.2 score over her Preferred 3 foes.
Alfie Carroll gunned So Frisky through at the pegs to protect the early lead in the $8,500 distaff pacing feature, and the pair seated the rest of the field behind them in numerical order through a :28.1 first quarter. After being stalked by pocket rival Lively Rocket (Jason Ryan) to the midway point in :56.4, So Frisky began to accelerate away — enough to evade an oncoming first-over challenge from Larjon Legacy (Travis Cullen) — past three-quarters in 1:24.4. Larjon Legacy was urged to sustain her pursuit off the home turn, but So Frisky remained in hand to Carroll all the way to the winning post and prevailed by a measured two lengths. Larjon Legacy was an isolated second, 2-3/4 lengths better than Lively Rocket.
Anita Ouellette trains 14-time winner So Frisky for Luc Ouellette and Paul Bernard.
