State-bred trotters were in the limelight on Friday, September 9 at Freehold Raceway, as the Charles Smith, Helen Smith, Harold Dancer, Marion Dancer each went postward vying for a good chunk of change

In the $75,000 Charles Smith, gelded Yankee Glide sophomore EL Rock ($4.80, $3.20, $2.60) scored a one and three-quarter length victory in 1:58.1 for driver George Brennan and trainer Anette Lorentzon. The three-year-old had bided his time until the half. From there, he went on to claim the lead by the three-quarters and the rest was history. Take Heart ($3.20, $3.00) rallied for second and Winuendo ($2.10) finished third.
After having started from the rail in the $65,000 Helen Smith, three-year-old Classic Photo filly Firstclassprincess ($4.80, $3.20, $2.60) went gate-to-wire in a career best of 1:57.4 for her trainer/driver, Trond Smedshammer. She wasn't headed in the dash and went on to win by five and a half lengths over Ilia ($3.20). Tayas Photo ($3.80) finished third.
The $60,000 Harold Dancer saw two-year-old Muscles Yankee colt Muscolo record a one and a quarter-length victory in 2:01.4 for driver Mike Lachance and trainer Ray Schnittker. Kingapore finished second and Map Of Hawaii copped the show dough.
The $50,725 Marion Dancer saw the two-year-old Joseph King-trained and David Miller-driven Windsongs Legacy filly Riverfest record a two and a quarter-length win in 2:01.3 to keep her unbeaten streak in tact. Purple Rain finished second and Hula La third.
