Friskie Beauty, who recently won two Ohio Sire Stakes legs at Northfield Park, has been named the state's Horse of the Month for August by the Ohio chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association.
With victories in her August 12 and August 26 legs of the OSS, the freshman daughter of Feelin Friskie has proven that she likes the 'flying turns' of the Route 8 oval. Her one and a half-length victory in her latest OSS event resulted in a new speed badge of 1:57.1.
Friskie Beauty is trained by Marty Wollam for owner Thurman Downing, who also bred the filly.
Friskie Beauty is hoping that September proves to be a productive month for her, as her $75,000 OSS final will be taking place at Scioto Downs and an Ohio Breeders event at the Delaware County Fairgrounds is an option as well.
