Arty Foster’s Spunky Vic ($12, Ross Wolfenden) earned his seventh win of the year Wednesday, capturing the $21,700 Junior Open Trot at Harrington Raceway

The five-year-old Valley Victor gelding received a two-hole trip behind pacesetter JM Vangogh, and was full of trot in the stretch, surging by in deep stretch for the win. Fivedollarsforsox closed ground late for second, while favourite JM Vangogh held third.
The win pushed Spunky Vic's earnings over the $100,000 mark for the year for owner/trainer Foster.
Harrington’s newly renovated Murphy’s Race and Sports Book will open for business Thursday at 11 a.m. The state-of-the-art facility will feature the NFL Sunday Ticket as well as daily simulcasting of racetracks across North America.
