The $17,000 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series Gold final for male pacers, presented by Red Shores, headlines the Tuesday, Sept. 8 card at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The 15-dash program, originally scheduled for Saturday evening, was postponed and will now begin Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Malevolent is the 5-2 morning-line favourite from post six for trainer-driver Paul Langille and owners Debbie Francis and Rosanne Langille. The four-year-old son of Malicious-Lady Kelleigh Anne was a winner in Graduate Series Gold action in 1:52.3 earlier this season.

Brookdale Johnny (Ken Murphy) is another top contender from post five after winning his latest start in 1:54.2 at Red Shores Summerside. One Wicked Man (Brodie MacPhee) has post two, while Malignity (Corey MacPherson) starts from the rail.

The Post Time Picks goes with Malevolent.

"Take a peek at the line three down where Malevolent got to the front and never looked back scoring in 1:52.3. It won’t be easy from post six, but if he fires home in 27 and change, there’s a strong chance he gets it all in the Graduate Series Gold Final."

James (Roach) MacGregor Memorial Gold Cup and Saucer consolation winner Arbitrage Hanover will look to continue his winning form in the $6,250 Preferred Pace, which lines up in Race 11.

Arbitrage Hanover is the 5-2 morning-line favourite from post four with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Clifford Murphy and owners Ken, Glenn and Justin Hardie. The five-year-old son of Bettors Wish-Ana Hanover enters Tuesday fresh from winning the $30,000 MacGregor Memorial in 1:50.2.

Jmr Speak Away will leave immediately to his inside from post three with Gilles Barrieau in the seat for trainer Darren Crowe and owner Kevin Harvey. The Artspeak-Moms Bella five-year-old gelding finished third behind Arbitrage Hanover in the MacGregor consolation, pacing his mile in 1:50.4.

Bee Two Bee has post five with Jason Hughes driving for trainer Ashley Gamester and owners Donald MacRae and Blair MacLauchlan. The career earner of more than $580,000 has won his last two starts, including the Premier’s Pace in 1:54.2 on Gold Cup and Saucer night.

Papis Rocket is the Post Time Picks selection in the Race 15 finale from post eight with David Dowling handling the training and driving duties. High Voltage Deo (MacPherson) and Air Force Hanover (Barrieau) are also among the top choices.

The program will also feature the P.E.I. Standardbred Horse Owners Association Driving Championship, Horseperson’s Day and National Caretaker Appreciation Day presented by Standardbred Canada and supported by Red Shores and the Prince Edward Island Harness Racing Industry Association.
