On Tuesday, September 8, Break The Bank K gelding Magic Vacation notched his second consecutive victory while winning The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono's $12,800 claiming trot feature.
Anthony Napolitano again sent Magic Vacation frontward early despite a jump in class, and the pair parked well past the :27.1 opener to get by the favoured Crossfit. The half-mile pole was reached in :55.4, and the tempo setter got no respite as Pilgrims Tide came up uncovered heading to the 1:24.3 three-quarters pole. Crossfit swung wide out of the pocket to loom boldly as these three turned for home.
Crossfit disappointed his backers by going off stride in early stretch and Pilgrims Tide actually gained a short advantage, but Magic Vacation dug in and defeated his rival by the smallest possible margin in 1:54. Magic Vacation currently races for trainer Steven Brabrook and owner Jaypaul Hoover.
