Canada's number one television show with an average of 3.5 million viewers each week will broadcast an episode partially filmed at a popular Canadian harness racing track on Tuesday night.
Commercials for The Amazing Race Canada's Tuesday episode features contestants using sulkies to pull their partners around the racetrack at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park in one of the 10th leg challenges for the show's combatants.
According to an article in The Guardian, Tourism P.E.I. provided $5,000 in funding to assist with production costs for the episode and staff support, recognizing the value in showcasing the Island to such a large viewership, although it had no control over what producers chose to film.
“The P.E.I. show is amazing – it’s actually one of my favourites this season,” Mark Lysakowski, supervising producer of The Amazing Race Canada, told The Guardian.
The commercials also show teams taking part in a challenge at Province House and climbing through a mountain of manure.
The Amazing Race Canada airs Tuesday at 9/8c on CTV.
