Henderson On “Decent” Hiawatha Meet

Hiawatha Horse Park operator Jim Henderson says that the recently-concluded season of live harness racing at the Sarnia, Ont. track was “decent.” He also says that he is hoping that the ‘overlap’ of race days, with Dresden Raceway and Leamington Raceway, that took place this year will not occur in 2015.

Henderson’s comments have come via a report by the Sarnia Observer in which he was quoted as saying that Hiawatha only got its licence two days before the track opened.

“We need to get a better plan ahead of time,” he was quoted as saying.

The Sarnia Observer article also contains comments from horseman Fred Haskell, who said that although he enjoys racing at the horse park, he is having trouble paying his bills by racing at the Sarnia raceway.
