Alilthundadownunda scored his 50th career victory on Sunday, Sept. 6 at Running Aces, a program packed with huge performances, career marks and a new track record.
The game 10-year-old gelding, who was the 2021 Minnesota Horse of the Year, delivered a very sharp closing effort in a $11,806 conditioned pace, storming home in the lane to prevail in the 1:54 mile. Mooney Svendsen was the winning pilot for trainer Nick Roland owners Set The Pace Racing of Chisago City, Minn. and Kenneth Stauffer of Withee, Wisc.
Alilthudadownunda now shows $612,463 in career earnings which places him among the richest Minnesota-sired horses to date. The son of Malak Uswaad N-Wild About Eagle returned $6.80 at the windows.
DP Freedoms Chrome stepped up to the plate to score his first win of the season and his 31st career win with a new track record of 1:53.2 for aged stallion trotters in an $16,111 conditioned event.
The talented five-year-old, who was the 2024 Minnesota Horse of the Year now holds three track records here at the Minnesota oval (as the two-year-old and three-year-old trotting colt track record holder) and also pushed his career earnings to $526,467 for owner Aimes Racing of Elma, Ia. and trainer Elvin Zimmerman.
Dean Magee was in the bike behind DP Freedoms Chrome for the record mile and the win mutuel was $2.80.
Peanutbutterfalcon and driver Scott Cisco rallied inside late to capture the $23,611 Open Handicap trot in a career-best 1:54.1 mile for his 23rd career win. He prevailed in a thrilling three-way photo over Fifty Rivers (Casey Leonard) and Inferno Dk (Brady Jenson).
The winner, a four-year-old son of Quality Kemp-Lindys On Fire, was the 2025 Minnesota Horse of the Year and now shows earnings of $381,626 for trainer Dan Roland and owner Jeri Roland of Sandstone,m Minn.
Peanutbutterfalcon paid $13 to win.
SV Shining Star recorded her seventh win of the season in the $24,306 Minnesota-sired sophomore filly trot in 1:58, paying $5.80 with Rick Magee in the bike for trainer Justin Anfinson, and that pair also teamed up to capture the $24,306 male division with Bang Bang Boogie for his 10th win of the season with a 1:57.4 tally. He returned $3.60 on top.
Live harness racing returns to Running Aces on Tuesday, Sept. 8 for "Dollar Night" with $1 Hot Dogs and $2 Beers among other value priced items, as well as free bet drawings to compliment an eight-race program that will get underway at 7 p.m. (CDT).
