Chatelroll captured the $7,000 featured pace at Vernon Downs on Saturday (Sept. 7).
Golden Gun forged to the front and led to the first quarter in :27.4. He glided to the half in :57.2 and three-quarters in 1:25.4. Manverick took over as they made the turn for home.
Chatelroll, who is owned by Purple Haze Stables and trained by George Ducharme, was fourth after three-quarters. He flew down the stretch and blew right by to win in 1:52.4. Manverick settled for second best with Electrofire coming up to finish third.
Chatelroll is a three-year-old colt by Roll WIth Joe. It was his sixth win in 11 starts this season. He now owns eight victories. Howard Parker drove the $3.90 winner. Parker and Ducharme also combined for a win with Charlotte Chaplin ($2.20) on the night.
Leon Bailey drove three winners on Saturday. He got wins with Jamaican Cowboy ($7.90), Awesum Ace ($6.00), and Winery Hanover ($15.00). John MacDonald and Claude Huckabone Jr. each drove two winners on the card. MacDonald trained and drove Lunar Stride ($6.00), and Sgt Papa Daddy ($2.10) to the winner's circle. Huckabone Jr. won with Regal Escape ($15.60), and Weapon To Win ($7.10).
