Trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt put the pedal to the metal with Ghost Pine in Monday afternoon’s $12,500 Open Pace at Century Downs, and the speedster never looked back en route to a 9-1 upset victory in 1:53.3.

Ghost Pine sliced out splits of :28.2, :57 and 1:24.4 for Hoerdt before sprinting home in :28.4 for the one-length triumph over Get Thereovernight. Taking home third prize in the five-horse affair was Sotally Tober.

Hoerdt shares ownership on the four-year-old son of Badlands Hanover-Just Sassy with Blair Corbeil of Beaumont, AB, and together they’ve watched the pacer rack up a 6-4-2 record from 18 trips to the track this season. The 16-time winner boosted his overall bankroll to $108,854 with the victory.

Trainer/driver Travis Cullen was a winning machine during the 10-race card thanks to five-win performance in race bike. Three of those victories were behind horses from his own barn.

He racked up wins with stablemates Raging Fingers (1:54 - $5.60), Playbook (1:58.1 - $4.00) and Sin Machqueen (1:58.3 - $5.20) in addition to catch-driving Outlawsecretweapon (1:55.3 - $5.70) and Royal Dragon (1:57 - $10.70) to wins for their respective connections.
