Roy Parker Jr.'s Nikasa N was a decisive wire-to-wire winner in the $20,000 Mares Open Pace on Tuesday at Harrington Raceway in 1:54.4 on a sloppy racetrack.
The strategy was never in question as driver Montrell Teague promptly stepped on the gas from post three and placed Nikasa N on the front end where she would cruise through fractions of :27, :56 and 1:25.
She had opened up multiple lengths on the field at the top of the stretch and was under confident handling to the wire in her three-length score over Anneke and Designed To Dance.
Trained by Eddie Dennis, the six-year-old Bettors Delight mare earned her fourth win of the year. She paid $7.40 to win.
The win also gave Teague a double on the program, joining Victor Kirby, Ross Wolfenden and Allan Davis.
