After a solid score versus Preferred 3 types last week at Grand River Raceway, Its Huw You Know stepped up to take on Preferred 2 foes Thursday evening at Flamboro Downs – and he passed the test with flying colours for Team Hensley.

Its Huw You Know shot to the front for driver/co-owner Ed Hensley and together they led the field through fractions of :28.1, :58 and 1:26.3 before storming home in :28.4 to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Absolut Seelster in 1:55.2. Warrawee Shipshape was third.

Ashleigh Hensley trains and co-owns the six-year-old son of Holiday Road-Lukes Elvira, who improved his 2018 record to 6-5-2 from 27 starts with the victory. The 19-time winner pushed his career earnings over $270,000 in the process.

Stormont Kate used a ‘come and get me’ approach for trainer/driver/owner Bruce Richardson en route to capturing the $8,500 Preferred 3 for trotters.

She fired to the lead from Post 6 and chopped out panels of :28.1, :58 and 1:26.4 before rocketing home in :28.3 to win by 1-3/4 lengths over Kinnder Dangerous in 1:55.2. Taking home third prize was Katch Kanna.

The seven-year-old daughter of Kadabra-Princess Stormont is now 4-for-14 this season and 31-for-144 in her career. The lion’s share of the loot lifted her lifetime earnings over $310,000.
