Howard Taylor's Handsome Henry K won the $16,000 Open Pace feature on the Labor Day program at Harrington Raceway Monday.
The seven-year-old Western Ideal gelding and driver George Dennis followed favourite Dancin Yankee, who was the pacesetter, before surging by near the top of the stretch and overpowering his rivals to a 1:51 win. Little Ben was second, while Dancin Yankee finished third.
It was the fourth win of the year for Handsome Henry K ($13), who is trained by Mike Hall.
On the undercard, Sharon Wyatt, Robin West and Ronald Benton's Remember Me VK ($5.80, Montrell Teague) notched his third straight win in 1:52.2. Trained by Bobby Wyatt, the 4-year-old Art Director gelding set all the fractions in his 15th career win.
Dennis and Tony Morgan each had a pair of wins.
