Star Ontario pacing mare So Much More notched her fifth consecutive win at Woodbine Mohawk Park's top class, taking the $33,000 edition of the Filly & Mares Open Pace on Saturday night (Sept. 3).

Driver James MacDonald sent the six-year-old Big Jim mare for the lead from post six to a :26.4 first quarter and coasted on the point through middle fractions of :55.2 and 1:23.3. She spun for home with Voelz Delight on her back ready to lay an attack, and through the stretch Voelz Delight narrowed on So Much More's lead. Though, the Don Beatson pupil repelled the challenge to the finish to keep a head in front by the beam in a 1:50.2 mile with Western Wish taking third and Shes Nun Bettor N finishing fourth.

Don Beatson co-owns So Much More with Kenneth Beatson and Cole England. She won her 52nd race from 114 starts and has now earned $1,051,948.

So Much More paid $2.80 to win.
